today has been quite full of events.
first of all, meet my pink hair.
now, get a good looong look, because its gone.
ya see... last night, marie [[aka mother]] kind of threw a babyfit.
she texted our hair-doing lady, told her there was a hair emergency, and set up an appointment for this morning for me to get this awful color removed from my lovely locks.
although i was saddened by the loss of my hair rebellion, i like what my hair lady did. aka the pink has been replaced by jet black.
i think its something i can deal with. ;)
next item of business: ultrasound.
my first, of course.
and no... i'm not pregnant.
i was being checked for cysts of the ovarian variety.
[[and to those who care, i don't know the results yet.]]
in the words of my mother: "get used to this. its the first of many."
...oh, goody.
first of all, i had to drink a gallon of water i swear.
and then they told me my bladder wasn't full enough.
they made me sip more water and tried again.
bladder was successfully filled, but they couldn't find my ovaries.
now, i could be wrong, but there's not much else down there besides a uterus, right? i mean, how hard could it be?
they started pushing really hard with the little ultrasoundwavedevice.
almost peeing my pants 6 times and 20 minutes later...
done.
and gee, i can't wait to do that again when i'm pregnant... someday.
i guess i'd better continue on my quest for an eternal companion,
right after i get this endless supply of goop off my pelvis.
on the bright side, i discovered i love the broadway production joseph & the amazing technicolor dream coat from watching old home videos of my sister playing potipher's wife in her high school musical.
this inspired me to sit myself down with some richfield style taco time and watch the phantom of the opera in the lovesac.
[[as much as i'd rather watch the live production, gerard butler and his untrained voice will have to do in desperate moments.]]
also, i woke up early to spend the morning with my best friend colten
along with his dad, step-mom, and adorable puppies.
we don't get much time together since his wifey heather came along,
but since he's in richfield recovering from a tonsillectomy, and she is in salt lake, we get a few spare moments together (:
i've missed the kid, and our time together today only confirmed that he is the best friend, no... brother, i could ever ask for and i couldn't be more blessed.
the day was complete when i arrived back at my apartment to an awaiting letter from elder ryan glen frandsen...
and can i just say, it was a long time coming.
i wrote him a month ago, and thought he hated me because i never got a reply.
the letter i received today came with this attached sticky note:
"brielle,
sorry this letter is coming to you so late. i got it back as return mail TWICE! at first i thought you just sent it back, but you didn't, so here you go! (:"
...after all the frustration i felt after not getting a letter back from him, i laughed at that note. out loud. alone in my little bedroom. i need to learn some patience! have a little faith in my friends & not give up hope on them like i did with ryan. not everyone is going to let you down. i'm just happy for this letter, even though its short. he's doing good & is still the same kid that i got to know this last summer. i'm so proud of him! (:
i finished the day off with a liter of mountain dew, a long talk with my dear roommate chels, and some therapeutic blogging... which leads me to where i am now, waiting for hannah to come home so i can catch her up on the events of my week away from the eight-ohh-one.
i'm just gonna leave you with this quote, that i need to stick to more often:
"stop planning your life and let it plan itself.
quit trying to find the perfect boy and let him find you.
if you don't want drama, then don't talk crap.
things are only as complicated as you make them."
