"I'll go where you want me to go, dear Lord, over mountain or plain or sea. I'll say what you want me to say, dear Lord, I'll be what you want me to be."
--lds hymn :)
ike beck has been my best friend since i was 13 years old and a freshman in high school. honestly, i don't even know how we became friends...it just happened. ever since then, he has been the one that i can talk to about anything, the one that i can call when i need a date and can't find anyone, and my favorite person to hang out with.
i'll never forget that phone call one night from a random number with ike telling me that he got his mission call...to cape town, south africa. i have never been so excited for someone. no one even knew he had submitted his mission papers, and now here he is, time for him to leave the country and fly thousands of miles away to serve the people of south africa.
i'm going to miss my friend. i'll miss his somewhat inappropriate/racist jokes. i'll miss the fact that he is the only person that can make me laugh when i'm upset. i'll miss him calling me at 4 in the morning to tell me his big news. i'll miss his advice on guys. i'll miss playing pool with him and talking about things that i can only tell him about. i'll miss driving all over the red hills and reversing down the freeway. i'll miss him being scared of my house, my dad, and the casket room. i'll miss him pounding on the piano and singing the circle of life and other lion king songs at the top of his lungs. i'll miss dancing with him in one voice and "tango-ing". i'll even miss him calling me rude names and making me pay for his hot cocoa every night during the winter.
i love ike. i love the fact that he and i can be just friends, but still be so close. i love the fact that when we tried to be more than friends, he told me our friendship is something too important to risk. i also love the fact that there was just no "spark" between us. i love the fact that he calls me morg. i love the fact that ike is different than everyone else in richfield, and he doesn't care. but most of all, i love the fact that my best friend has made the decision to give two years of his life to the Lord.
the memories i have with ike are one thing that i will never forget, no matter what happens in our lives or how far apart we are.

isaac is a pro bowler. except for when he is handcuffed to me :)

well... let's just say that we handle awkward situations quite nicely.

classic ike && brielle faces.
the all-time best. he looks ridiculous. and i love it. he always supported the drill team with me :)there is no such thing as a picture with ike normally smiling. fact.
good luck in africa, ikey! love you!
