yesterday was my first day of my second year at utah valley university.
(and i'm apologizing in advance for there being no pictures in this post. stinkin stealing ex-roommate!)
the first class of the day is institute: aka dating and courtship.
10 a.m. class with wayyyy more girls than boys, of course.
brother hugh told us this cute little thing about the hymns, and how they are really all about kissing...
made us introduce ourselves by saying what kind of gum or lipgloss we prefer to use...
and i'm pretty sure our final has something to do with going on a date.
so what i'm saying is... me and little han are in for a treat! (:
with a 30 minute break between institute and biology, we visited the uvu job fair in the hall of flags.
i didn't want a job... until i went.
now i'm crossing my fingers and praying real hard for an advertising internship i applied for. wish me luck!
we also ran into rachel's cute new husband, joe. funniest guy ever. is it weird that i think its strange when i see him without rachel? for some reason i think married people have to be together at all times. especially newlyweds.
biology is going to be an adventure. our TA is funny... but not. its confusing. and our teacher makes constant jokes. i laughed most of the time, and when i wasn't laughing, i was taking very pointless notes so i'd look like a good student.
after biology, hannah goes to english and i go to accounting.
for some reason, i had in my mind that my teacher was going to be a young attractive guy...false.
he's old and... boring. prof's have a way of cracking jokes that are never, ever funny. but i laugh every time anyway.
accounting is kind of a review for me, so i spent the whole hour and fifteen minutes doodling in my notebook so i wouldn't start snoring...
after our time apart, hannah and i have a 45 minute break (which we of course spent at the job fair, this time with deven and riley)
we then got free fudgesicles and traveled to our next class... latin ballroom.
this is my second time taking it, so it should be pretty chill. our class has some cool kids in it, and our teacher is from south africa!
we learned each others names and had a disco party, then got sent home early.
after school & a quick subway run, i was ready for the first official colloquium event (honors) of the year.
we met at the LA building at 5:30 and then all of us (me, lex, kelsey, aly, riley, and chantel) crammed into a leeetle car and headed to salt lake for some artistic bowling!
lex & riley are both new to honors, so it was good talking to them... even though i already know ry.
kelsey, aly, and chan were all here last year, but we didn't really get to know each other very well. mistake! i love these girls! we already have tons of adventures planned that will probably never happen but... thought that counts, right?
so the rest of the night goes like so:
we get to salt lake, get in line, put weird little booties over our shoes, and embark on a mini-golf adventure. i suck at golfing, so i struggled on through, but allen was nice and let me pretend i got a hole-in-one for a picture. after, there was lasagna, so i ate grapes. and juice. then we sat, waited, waited and waited for our car to be ready to get outta there! i hid from riley, saw allen's amazing wedding ring, and talked more with some girls from honors. all in all, a successful evening.
even though school seemed like the longest moments of my life, and honors can be a pain sometime, i can't wait! we're in for some good times...
bring it on, uvu!
