procrastinating with random ramblings.

i have a chemistry test tomorrow, and i will most likely fail.
and yes, it is because i am blogging instead of studying.
the problem is, it makes so much sense to me. i can't study when i already know the material. but then, i get into the testing center, and everything i ever knew about chemistry cartwheels out the window and i'm left lost and alone. then, i fail. it's the classic story of my chem life.
so, that is why i am writing this somewhat pointless blog post while i wait for ike to get online instead of reading my chemistry book.
i think a lot of my posts are kind of boring, but it's alright because no one is being forced to read this. i thought that this was my 200th post, but turns out i just have a crazy amount of drafts in my history that i never publish. it's all the good posts, too. i need to better at finishing what i start.

oh, and speaking of ike, it's his birthday!!!
the silly guy is a whopping twenty years old today!
[well technically, yesterday. since it is now 2 a.m.]
he has been on his mission for a year! time has been flying by soooo fast, and it blows my mind. he'll be back before i know it, along with all the other boys in my class. then BAM. i'll be planning the five year reunion. ten. fifty.
i feel like if i blink, i'll wake up old and dead. that's how fast time is flying. really.

and speaking of getting old...
josh is leaving on his mission in three days! when did this happen? we're not old enough for this. i remember when the whole group of us were playing dress-up in grandma's heels in the upstairs bedroom [complete with fake runway] and now kaylee has a lip piercing, traysen owns his own business, cameron is working on becoming a cop, hannah and i are almost juniors in college, and josh is headed to italy for two years! i don't remember getting older. someone tell me, when did this happen? take me back to the dress-up days, when our idea of fun was throwing sticks in the canal and riding the lawn mower in circles in the back yard, please. adult-ism can't top that.

and of course, as soon as i start writing about how i want time to stop, the song nineteen and crazy comes on my itunes. "i wish that we could always stay nineteen and crazy." seriously, makes me want to cry. i'm not ready for the step into adulthood. there's so many things i haven't done yet! join a sorority. take a last minute roadtrip with random people. spring break on the beach. ya know, the true college experience? i mean, once you become a real responsible adult, you can't do that kind of stuff anymore. time is ticking, and it really does scare me.

but what scares me more? the fact that i don't date. what if i never get married? or what if i don't get married until i'm like, thirty, and all the good guys are taken? i can't be alone for eternity. that just wouldn't be okay. and it's not that i'm not trying. i make an effort to be friendly and meet guys... i'm just meeting all the wrong ones. short, gay, or toolbags. i just want one good experience. please.

okay, i think i've probably blabbed for long enough. i'm getting tired, and if ike doesn't email me soon, he's not going to get to read my birthday poem i wrote for him:

happy birthday, my best friend ike!
i wish i had a flying bike
so i could fly to south africa like a bug
and give you a great big birthday hug.
i love you lots, but it's been a year
and i really just wish you were here.
poems are hard, i think i'm done,
but i hope for your birthday you get a gun
to shoot the possibly posessed elephants
so they don't eat you or your pants.

i'm not sure if elephants and pants really rhyme, but i don't think he'll figure it out. but the great news is, he just emailed me... so i can stop blogging. haha (: nighty night!
