traffic jams give you a lot of time to think...
and i seem to find myself in traffic jams a little too often these days.

which got me to thinkin'...
life really is a highway!
everyone is in their own little car, moving at the speed they find most comfortable.
there are those that speed down the highway, always worried about where they're going and never getting a second look at what is going on around them.
there are those that drive slowly, focused intently on the road, simply because they're scared.
there are those who are solely interested in what is going on around them, and lose focus on the road and where they're going, causing multiple accidents.
then, there are those that drive just fast enough to not waste time, but still slow enough to observe all the beauty on each side of the road. these are the ones that have really got the right idea. they rarely get in accidents, or get pulled over. life is good for these.
sometimes on the highway, we get cut off by all sorts of different people. our first reaction, of course, is anger. but who are we to judge?
the person in the other car could have a wife who was in labor, or late to work, or a kid who might just soak their panties if they don't get to a bathroom... or maybe, they're just having a bad day. they could be a bad driver, or its possible that they just aren't very good at paying attention. but whatever the cause is...so what? we have all been that person before. we don't know what is going on in that car that just zoomed in front of us. i was taught that the key to being a good driver is to do everything right, and just hope that the others are going to do the same.
alright, but sometimes the other drivers aren't doing everything right, and because of that, you might get in an accident. the truth is, its gonna happen. people are gonna screw up on the road, and you're gonna be effected. is there anything you can do about it? not at all. that's life. all you can do is be the best driver you can, and pray that is good enough.
the one tip i can offer is: don't follow too close to other cars. they're gonna slam on their brakes or swerve, and odds are... you're going to crash with them. go at your own pace. your destination is still going to be there whether you ride someone's butt to get there or you take your own route, and the latter is sure a lot more fun... and safe. (:
