christmas happenings.

remember when i said i would blog every day for the twelve days of Christmas?

...oops. :/

but i plan to fully make it up to all nine of you, my followers, by making this an extra greeeat post about how i've been spending my time the last few days (:

first, there was that epic snowstorm. in my opinion, that "blizzard of the century" that was supposed to arrive a few weeks ago got sidetracked and decided to dump last monday... here is the proof:

court's car definitely got stuck multiple times. shown is the moment it got stuck in front of my house. unfortunately, my muscles were not strong enough and chase adams had to help us push her out. in return for his services...

 chase decided it was only fair to bury my car in as much snow as the parking lot could hold.

it probably took an hour to get my car outta here.

i had some fun in the snow in my shorts, and enjoyed all the weird looks i got from people who dared to brave the storm. (:

courtney made a snowman... i tore it down.

the ward party was a success, as usual, with mother and i dressing up in our best d.i. sweaters. i completed mine with a big purple bow on my head and was told i resembled an azurette dancing down the hall.  others told me i just looked like an adorable christmas present. (:

itchiest sweater of my life? yes.

then of course, there are the actual happenings of christmas day:

 

christmas pajamas this year were SNUGGiES! (: we may or may not have spent an hour taking weirdo pictures on the stairs, but these were the most presentable.

 
not to mention our adorable santa & rudolph slipps! (: ohh, and mom's socks and elf pants...

i used to think professor partynugget was smart... until i realized he didn't know it was christmas. how did i realize this, you ask? the nasty rodent bit me. on christmas day.

what's christmas without a little john schmidt?

i have been stuffing my face with this goodness for approximately 48 hours. say hello to the holiday weight gain! (:

dad entertained the family with these: pop rock chocolate bars. strangest things in the world, but surprisingly kind of yumm. (:

mother busted her butt in the kitchen to have a super nice christmas dinner for all of us... first time ever. the menu held: prime rib, stuffed mushrooms, mashed potatoes, cheesy vegetables, and martinelli's. what did i eat? ...mashed potatoes and martinelli's. (:

...and after all the effort mom put into dinner, trying to make it all fancy, we ended up just playing with the candles and spilling wax everywhere. ...oops. (:

pretty dang excited about this christmas present... a trip to vegas with my family to see the phantom of the opera! (: counting down for sure.


and the grand finale:

i have the best parents in the world! i have wanted this camera for years. they even sacrificed giving each other presents so i could have my dream christmas. words can't even explain how happy i am! (: i am one very very very blessed girl! ♥ say hellooooo to a potential career in photography! (:

so basically, the entire week of christmas was great! but it wasn't in the presents of the yummy food or even the snow... it was more than that. it was in seeing the look on my mom's face when she opened that perfect present from traysen. it was laughing at my brother and his sometimes lame jokes, no matter what. it was my dad's faces he pulls. it was seeing all my friends come together and talk about the old times. it was in remembering christ and every little moment spent with the people i love. ♥
