remember all those years when i said, "i would NEVER be in a pageant. those girls are CRAZY!" well....i lied. on saturday, i officially participated in the miss richfield 2010 pageant. see, the truth is being in a pageant has always been on my BUCKETLiST. the only reason i was never in one was i am petrified by the idea of strutting my stuff in front of the whole city && being judged on it. i finally came to the realization that i won't be young forever and its now or never.
so, i was in the miss richfield pageant. i made amazing new friends, learned new things about myself, and overall had the time of my life :)
lessons learned:
.SO much more goes into a pageant than meets the eye.
.even if you mess up, people are still going to tell you that you're great.
.my friends are simply the most talented girls i have ever met.
.i look up to some people a lot more than i realized.
.i CAN play the hardest piano piece in front of hundreds of people and survive.
.people cheering for you really does help.
.it is possible for me to get nervous enough that i shake. as in, i shake so bad i can't play the piano.
.being "in it to win it" = no no fun.
.time is everything.
.i'm blessed.

to katelin: sister! i'm so glad we got to hang out again since we don't have tennis together anymore! you are such a cute talented girl (i think we got it from momma!) haha and i'm definitely in for the canal! love you sisty!
to karol: k! i'm so glad that i did the pageant (: thanks for encouraging me! things would definitely have rocked less if we hadn't got to work the corner in the dressing room together! and 1st attendant! i definitely called it so... you owe me a million dollars (: i'm seriously SO proud of you! you definitely deserved it. it just goes to show that... the judges don't believe in hboh. haha i love youu cht cuddlebud!
to virginia: or should i say miss congeniality? you did SO good at the pageant virg. you're so cute and good at making everyone laugh. you definitely made the pageant a better experience for me. lets not stop hanging out because the pageant is over, yeah? love you virgy!
to kamenna: oops, i mean makenna. haha or... MiSS RiCHFiELD?! you definitely deserved it. you are one of the most talented dancers i have ever seen. i think i might steal a little bit of your skills? ok deal. you're seriously such a sweetheart and i'm so happy for you! we will definitely have to hang out more this next year (: love you kenna!
to julia: wow. you are the funniest girl ever. not gonna lie, i don't think we used to like each other very much... but i'm SO glad we were in the pageant together so we could get to know each other better and become friends! i'm so excited you live in slc now so we can PARTY! thanks for making sure i was always in line to get where i was supposed to be! love you juelz! (:
to hannah: wow kitty. i don't even know where to start. first, thank you so much for doing the pageant with me and encouraging me along. without you i think i would have been lost. second, i'm SO happy that you got 3rd attendant. you worked so hard and really need and deserve it. i know a lot of people think that i am going to be upset with you for it, but i'm actually the complete opposite. nothing could have made me happier, unless you would have been crowned 1st (: hahaha i love you kitty, and i miss you already. i can't wait to see you in 3 days. boo&&kitty forever! haha p.s. don't let the fatties bring you down...you know what i'm talking about. love!
to alex: flex! bucket! 2nd attendant! (CALLED iT!) haha so proud of you al! you are so perfectly amazing! seriously, you are probably one of the people our age i look up to more than anything. you're so sweet and nice. in all the time we've been friends, i don't think you've said hardly anything bad about anyone. not to mention you are GORGEOUS and a BEAUTiFUL dancer! teach me how! i miss you so much :( lets never move away from each other again k? hawaii, here we come! i love you albucket!
to shacari: wow shac. i know you kinda got tricked into doing the pageant, but you were AMAZiNG! that talent of yours? dang girl! you seriously should have won off that alone. i think i will steal all your skills and keep them in my pocket so i can amaze people whenever i want (: you really did an amazing job, and i'm glad i had you to complain to backstage. "go team!" hahaha love you shac!
to cadee: wow cad! i never thought we'd get so close from just a week of the pageant! i'm way glad i got to know you instead of just hearing stuff about you through colten! you are such a cute girl and your piano piece was beautiful! (: we will definitely hang out when i'm in richfield! thanks for listening to me complain about stupid boys and just being there for me. i love you cad!
to mccall: girl, you seriously can sing like an angel. i got chills every time. no wonder you were miss richfield! i'm glad i got to spend the week with you! i've been missing you since our witchy days in the attic! seriously... lets hang out. k deal. (: love you!
to laurie&marie: you two are AMAZiNG women! thank you for all the work you put in to make the pageant possible! i look up to you two so much! marie: you have the most adorable clothes! laurie: thanks for letting me and han borrow every possible item of your clothing and jewelry! you two are great! thanks again! love you!
to pageant mommy: you are the cutest woman in the world. thanks for lacing up my dress and putting on my shoes for me! i definitely would have failed without you! thanks for keeping me upbeat when i was worried about my talent. you are the best pageant mom in the world! love you!
to nicole: thanks for tying the best bows on this half of anywhere. you should definitely go pro. also, thanks for helping out hannah. you're so cute (: love ya!
to cindy: thanks for doing my hair and giving me tips! also, thanks for supporting! best cousin ever! (: love you cind!
to traysen: thanks so much for the texts you sent me during the pageant to keep me going. also, thanks for driving all the way to support me. i love you so much!
to my family: thanks for supporting me and believing in me. thanks for the new outfit too (: i love you guys!
to myself: you did great (: way to face your fears and do what scares you most! pretty sure everything else is going to seem like cake compared to this! can't wait to do it next year (:
