"and i know we get a little crazy, and i know we get a little loud, and i know we're never gonna fake it. we are wild, we are free, we are more than you think so call us freaks, but that's just the way we roll!"
--the jonas brothers
as i was driving home from work the other day, a jonas brothers song came on the radio, and it got me to thinkin about my junior year when krista holt took a bunch of little hunter's friends to the jonas brothers concert for hunter's fifteenth birthday! this was back when jonas brothers were slightly cool, and we were all so excited to go. i woke up the morning of the concert with the flu of all things, and was really upset because i didn't think i'd get to go, but krista said to come anyway, just "don't breathe on anyone!"
we all loaded in the car and headed out at about 2 in the afternoon. i was so sick that i had to put my head beneath my knees to keep from urfing all over the holt's nice car. we got to provo and stopped at the provo towne mall, and i could barely stand. i went in and laid on a couch while all the other girls shopped until they dropped. dear little jerika paige brown realized that i had the chills so she bought me a $5 yellow coat at forever21. bless jerika brown! that helped a lot, but i still felt awful and wished i would have just stayed home.
we then continued on our journey to the training table in provo to eat dinner. (of course i didn't eat) then it was TIME! time to travel to the e-center in west valley city (?) for the concert of the century! our seats were clear at the very top, and we had to sit in front of this little girl who was psycho. she screamed the whole time, which sucked for my headache. all i could hear was, "joe! i love you! nick! you are SO sexy! i love you! marry me? i love you!" all night long. the last thing i really remember was putting my head down and covering my ears. next thing i know, we are leaving the e-center and the concert is over... i went through all the sickness for a concert that i don't even remember.
i learned one thing from this adventure: brielle needs to stay home when she is sick! no band is worth it! (plus, i got hunter sick. happy birthday! haha) luckily, i got the opportunity to see the jonas brothers again the summer after high school with alex wall at the stadium of fire, but by then i didn't care about them at all. even though that night of my very first concert was hell, i'm glad i went so all my old friends can share this memory with me of an exciting time in our lives. even though the group of us aren't really friends anymore (jerika brown, amy ogden, hunter holt, ashley tuttle, amanda lancaster), we still have that memory we share, along with so many others, that holds us together. :)
after the concert. all the girls. yellow coat :)
