okay... i'm back to regular blogging. for good.
the absence might have been 80% due to the fact i'm deeply, irrevocably in love with a cute boy...
and 20% due to laziness.
but in my time of blog-slacking, i haven't just been laying around eating cake pops and cuddling with mister dubois.
i was in a beauty scholarship pageant this last week. the second one in my lifetime, actually.
**disclaimer: i did not try out to win. you will see from these pictures that i was not one of the serious girls, and that's the way i like it. i was there strictly to have fun, establish relationships, and better myself. in fact, if i would have won, i might have died inside. that said... enjoy. (:
we shimmy & shaked our way through our production number, "the perfect day", and i only almost fell once.
my casual wear dress might have made me look like a washer-woman, but i was comfortable & wearing my TOMS, so i didn't care.
i sang and pranced around the stage to "on my own" from the broadway hit les miserables. my voice cracked, the mc couldn't say miserables, and i might have looked constipated 88% of the time.
i also make idiot faces on stage. this one was in response to virginia stating that she's "not as sane as everybody thinks."
"what's your favorite vacation spot? and you better say richfield." no thanks. mind blank... as usual, i turn to saint george to save me.
my formal wear outfit only takes 2 women and 20 minutes to get into. no big deal.
i do this fun thing where i pick the winners before and list them to the girl next to me. always dead on.
cadee was a leetle sad, so i had to run and give her a side-hug & killer thumbs up. also, congrats to the winners!
why are my bestfriends so amazing? signs, glitter, unicorns, flowers, and a giraffe? i'm lucky.
...not to mention the most supportive one of all & my very best friend, mister scott william dubois! ♥
even though my parents "told me not to do it" and my dad was ticked i didn't "lay down so i could do your makeup", they still came & watched. even stuck through the whole dang thing! they're not pageant people, so that's a big deal. thank you! (:
this is julia cozette. she sings like an angel & it just so happens that she won 2nd attendant. i've never been so happy! she deserves that crown!
this is kate, and she is great. (and sideways) and 3rd attendant. probably the sweetest most adorable girl ever & i'm soooo pumped for her!
so that, my friends, was my night in the lights. it couldn't have turned out more perfectly. i am so glad i did it again so i could get that experience. i feel like i am more ready than ever to make the step into adulthood and be a big girl. (: thanks to all of you who came out to support me & all the other beautiful talented girls in this pageant! ♥
